We're getting married!

We met at Claim Jumper La Mesa on a Sunday in early September (not sure the exact date but if we had to guess, it would be September 11th). Katie had just moved to San Diego, to attend UCSD, a few days before and Jared had just moved back from Las Vegas a month earlier. Jared had worked at La Mesa before moving to Vegas and was coming back on to be a server. Katie worked at the Claim Jumper in Buena Park and was looking to transfer to a Claim Jumper in San Diego to avoid looking for a new job. It was very serendipity that Katie was transferred to La Mesa after trying to get transferred to the newly opened Downtown store. The GM at the Downtown store had told Katie that they had hired on enough servers and didn't have any more room on the staff. But, she thought the La Mesa store would be able to accept her transfer. They first met in (what we called) the 5 room at the terminal where we put in orders. It was Jared's first day and Katie had only worked a few shifts. We became friends as it was customary for a group of us to go out after work to get drinks and hangout. We were friends for over a year before we admitted to having feelings and Jared asking Katie to be his girlfriend, officially, on November 19th, 2017. After being together 6 years before the proposal, a move to Orange County, COVID, moving back to San Diego, 2 cats and lots of laugh and love later, we are finally getting married!
