McCall and Katie met while studying baking and pastry arts and Johnson and Wales University in 2012 and have been inseparable ever since. McCall and Katie have been on endless adventures navigating their last years of college and life after graduation. McCall and Katie now work together at the hotel and McCall is frequently Katie’s partner at bridal shows and events representing Katie’s cake business. Fun fact! When William first saw Katie’s online dating profile he wasn’t 100% sure which person the dating profile was for because almost every single photo was of Katie and McCall.

Liz is William’s big sister and quickly became one of Katie’s favorite people in the Hawthorne family. She immediately welcomed Katie into the family with open arms. Liz and her husband, Dave, enjoy frequent game nights with Katie and William (where William insists Katie cheats even though he wins just as often as she does).
Jen Croteau

Jen and Katie met on a spontaneous road trip to Vermont their friend Steph had put together. They had never met before that weekend and by the end they were best friends. Jen lived in NYC pre-Covid and Katie would love to drive down and spend weekends exploring the city with Jen and all there was to do. Jen now lives back in RI which Katie is ecstatic about because she loves having her friend just 10 minutes away! Jen and Katie spend endless hours talking about literally everything and anything and are so grateful they were introduced because it resulted in such a beautiful friendship. Katie and Jen love sending cat reels and anything and everything Taylor Swift related back and forth on a daily basis.

Stephanie and Katie first met while studying baking and pastry arts at Johnson and Wales University where they had lab classes together. However it wasn’t until 2020 that they actually reconnected and became the best of friends. During 2020 Steph has this fabulous job as a catering sales manager at a rival hotel from Katie’s hotel and once the pandemic hit Steph unfortunately had been laid off. She had reached out to Katie curious about how Katie’s hotel was handling the situation and they ended up planning to go for a walk to chat and discuss current events and catch up on life since college. Well 2 hours and 6 miles later and they were still discussing everything under the sun (while Steph’s poor dog Polly had hit her limit on walking for the day but she was such a trooper!). They planning more walks and when it was safe dinner dates and have been planning monthly dates ever since! Katie has been overjoyed to have been able to share in so many exciting milestones with Steph such as Steph’s wedding and the welcoming of Steph’s beautiful baby girl Marley. Katie and Steph enjoy going to see Jonathan Van Ness shows and trying out fancy new dinner restaurants (especially if they offer meatballs)! Fun fact! Steph and Katie have been mistaken as sisters several times.

Steph and Katie met several years ago through a friend of William’s. Steph and Katie LOVE to travel together going on day trips to the cape or Newport. They have a never ending list of places to go next. They love trying out swanky new restaurants and cocktail bars. Steph and Katie have been known on more than one occasion to “go out for brunch” and not return home for 8 hours because they got caught up in enjoying the day. Fun fact! Steph and Katie are in the works of planning an excursion to Paris to see and do all the things!
