Wedding Safety Precautions

During these times of uncertainty, one thing that hasn't wavered is our love for each other and our desire to get married! At the same time, we want to prioritize the health of our guests, and we realize that some of you may not be able to attend, due to a variety of reasons, and we completely understand and respect your decision. We are confident that our venue is taking as many safety & sanitary precautions as possible to make our wedding day enjoyable and safe for us and our guests. Social distancing efforts will be made for both the ceremony and reception, including limited numbers of guests seated at each table, and preferably having families / groups seated together, when possible. If you are not comfortable attending the reception, but would still like to be part of the wedding ceremony, you are welcome to join us for that part of our wedding, just please let us know when you RSVP if you don't plan on staying for dinner. We understand that during this time travel will be limited and everyone has different levels of comfort attending events, which we completely understand, so we are realistically estimating around 75 guests will be attending our wedding (to be confirmed).

How It All Began...

We almost never met...and it definitely wasn't the "old-fashioned way", but one night in November two strangers had agreed to get together for a first date. That night, Andrew wasn't sure if he wanted to meet and flipped a coin to decide (or so he says), and I (Katie) almost canceled, since it was a work night after all, but as luck would have it, we both decided to give it a shot, and now looking back, we are so glad that we did!

The Proposal

I (Katie) have always loved Christmas time, and all of the family traditions associated with the holiday. This past Christmas was a busy day for us, as we made time to celebrate with both of our families, which was great, but by the time we got home that night we hadn't even exchanged gifts with each other yet. Little did I know, Andrew had something up his sleeve (or in his backpack, to be more precise). After he quickly unwrapped the gifts that I got him, he pulled out a nicely wrapped large square box, and as I opened it, I realized something was missing from the middle, in the shape of a small box. At that point he pulled me out on to the balcony of our condo, overlooking downtown, then he got down on one knee, and the rest is a bit of a blur for me, through all the crying... Katie didn't even answer me (Andrew) for a while, she was just crying, and I had to ask her again, until she finally said "Yes!" I had been waiting for the right time to propose, and I felt like Katie was really happy that day, as was I, so I decided that night was the night, after we had a great Christmas day celebrating with our families. Now we are excited to start our own family together, and we can't wait to celebrate our future with everyone!

For all the days along the way
