Recommendations of things to eat and do
Luke’s favorite Italian is Caruso’s Grocery in DC. It’s hard to get a reservation, but you can order to-go and eat it in the food hall next door or on outdoor tables :) Katie‘s favorite Indian is Rasika (a little more fancy/pricey) or Bollywood Masala in Old Town. Luke’s favorite Thai is Mai Thai on the riverfront in Old Town Alexandria or Soi38 in DC. Katie‘s favorite grab and go is Cava— Mediterranean Chipotle-style bowls. Luke’s favorite burger is Capitol Burger. Katie’s favorite tea and coffee spot is St. Elmo’s in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. Luke’s favorite steak is his own, but in a pinch he would pick the filet at Joe’s Seafood (really!). Fun French food can be found at Le Diplomate. Cool Rooftop bar: Ciel Social Club Cool inside bar: The Round Robin at the Willard Hotel or the lobby bar at the Waldorf Astoria. Special Gardens: Smithsonian Botanical Gardens or Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown. Special museums: National Gallery of Art (where we got engaged!) or the Portrait Gallery.
