Our story begins at Loyola University New Orleans in Miller 114. Daniel was an economics major at the time and took a keen interest in their Microeconomics class. Katie, a then music industries major, did not, and therefore missed class more than she should. They say certain people were always meant to meet, but Katie and Daniel's lack of communication in class meant the universe had to find another way to bring them together. This is where class registration and Dr Yavneh come into play. October 20th, 2017 is the day when Katie and Daniel met. Sitting outside Dr Yavneh’s office, Katie grumbled about the wait. They chatted and laughed, then went their separate ways, not realising that this wouldn't be the last time they would accidentally cross paths.
It was a sunny afternoon, and Katie was sitting on her bed, alone in her dorm. All her friends were out with their boyfriends or guys they were talking to, and Katie couldn't stop thinking about the cute guy she kept bumping into. Using her FBI-level skills, she found his Instagram and sent him a message, asking if he wanted to go to a concert with her. He said yes, and suggested they have dinner too. The date was a little awkward at first, but as the night went on the conversation seemed as though they had known each other for years. After the concert, Katie's friend who performed begged the two to go to an after-party, and they reluctantly agreed. The party was awful; thanks to the heavy metal band that was performing. However, this didn't ruin the date, and the two instead headed back to the dorms to watch Stranger Things.
I'll let you into a little secret... Katie had a sneaky suspicion that Dan was going to propose the night he did. They went to a fancy steak house and ordered an expensive bottle of wine. The suspension was killing Katie, but the meal progressed with no proposal. After dinner, the pair went to City Park to see the Christmas lights; the same place Dan had asked Katie to be his girlfriend. They walked around the park about three times before Dan decided on the perfect spot to get down on one knee. Of course, Katie cried, and then a crowd who, for some reason, were hiding behind a bush cheered and congratulated the pair.
