Ben and I first met in 2010 after Tori, the matron of honor, dragged me out of the house one night to go meet up with some friends. Little did I know Tori was trying to set me up with this really great guy, Ben. After running into one another here and there and spending more and more time together in Bowling Green, we started dating. I sure was glad I took Tori's advice that first night Ben and I met. After five years of dating, we decided to buy a home and move in together. Four years later we have a little family of our own with our beloved French Bulldog, Zoe. We can’t wait to tie the knot in front of our closest friends and family and finally make this thing official!
It was a lazy Saturday in November- when you get to sleep in and enjoy having coffee and making breakfast together. I remember waking up that morning and talking to Ben about how excited I was to be engaged to him, to plan a wedding and our future together. It was the end of the year and we had a handful of trips planned with one another in 2018. (I was certain he was going to propose on one of these said trips). We spent the day together.. taking Zoe to the park, Christmas shopping, and making our usual Kroger stop for a nice bottle of wine and steak to cook for dinner. We got home & started cooking. Ben opened our bottle of wine and put our favorite Spotify playlist on the Sonos system. He handed me a glass of our favorite wine and asked me to dance with him in the living room. None of this was strange to me. This was just something we did-we made dinner, drank wine and danced in the kitchen. While we were dancing, Ben got down on one knee and pulled out that little black box. He totally surprised me! He told me that he had thought of so many different proposal scenarios and that one had been during our upcoming trip to Europe. He said his mind was changed that morning when we were talking about our future and he couldn't wait any longer. He asked me in the most romantic way, doing what we love and with nobody around but us.
