We are having a private ceremony at home on Friday, October 20, 2023. The real party is Saturday, October 21 when we'll share our joy - and lots of food, drinks, and games - with our friends and family!
Our party starts at 2pm but is in the style of an open house! There are no strictly scheduled events so that we are able to spend as much time as we can with our friends and family. We have lots of games planned and, being the competitive people we are, don't want to be distracted from our real goal of total domination of all games.
Because the party will be both indoors and outdoors, during October, and in the Midwest, we have no idea what the weather will bring. Wear whatever makes you feel authentically YOU and is comfortable for you to play games, laugh a lot, and also be adorable in photos. We suggest layers.
While there will not be a Kathy Moening cake at the party due to the catering restrictions of the venue, there will be fantastic alternatives. It's not a perfect arrangement, but neither is marriage, and we're all just doing our best.
We're glad you're addressing this early so you can manage your own expectations and also perhaps seek therapy. There will be plenty of people to talk to and laugh with, lots of great food and drinks to enjoy, and so much people watching. Hopefully that will occupy your time while you choose not to enjoy the delight of yard games. Or you could stay home if you want, we won't tell you what to do.
Of course we know that! And don't worry, we've arranged for multiple TVs to be available so you can watch all your favorite sporting events. No, this is not even a joke.
Great question, we'd love to tell you. Of course not! Head over to our house for an actual block party lasting the rest of the night. We're barricading the street and will have plenty of drinks, pizza, music, and seats to continue the shenanigans. And if a block party is too chill for your taste, we're only a few blocks from the city's most popular bar scene. We'll have suggestions for you!
NOPE! Our wedding celebrates love and joy and we will ensure that it is a safe space to celebrate LGTBQAI+ lives, experiences, and relationships. If you're not comfortable celebrating love in the innumerable colors of the rainbow, please stay home.
