Greg joined an intramural softball team that I had previously played on. That day I had thankfully decided to go and be moral support for the team. When Greg showed up, I immediately said to myself, 'Who is that!?'.
Over the course of the next year, Greg and I were around each other periodically at group gatherings. He came to all the summer picnics I planned in our local park, but we really started to hit it off at a friend's dinner party we randomly ended up at together. Shortly, after that he came to my house warming party, and the rest is history. We first hung out by working from a local cafe together and then went on our first date in South Philly . Needless to say, it didn't take long for me to realize he was the one.
On a ski trip to Sugarbush Vermont, Greg took me to see this famous jump called 'The Church' which is known for its gorgeous views and insane terrain. We had to hike to the spot, which was no small task in ski gear as you can imagine, but when we got to the top what was about to happen was totally worth it. Before I knew it, Greg was down on one knee pulling a diamond ring out of a ski jacket. If you're wondering, yes he skied around with it in his pocket all day! I was so surprised. Our running joke is about my lack of tears in the moment which soon came afterward as we attempted to ski down a mountain with no snow.. it was a great day:)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
