Kate and Connor both attended Cherry Creek High School and were both on climbing team and in the adventure program. Connor often needed rides to climbing which Kate provided. He would stand inside the front door waiting for her to be ready and not saying more than one word to her mother, which Andrea likes to remind him of often. From this, they became best friends. After several years of climbing, hanging out in G's office, one dead cockroach found in the car while broken down on Arapahoe Road, and lots of inside jokes, Connor stuck bottle caps on the ceiling of Kate's room (her preferred decoration) spelling out "Will you go out with me?" The answer was obviously yes.

Kate moved to Fort Collins to attend CSU (Go Rams!) and Connor moved to Fort Collins two years later. They adopted Auri, who is the furry love of their lives. Once graduating from CSU, Kate was accepted into Creighton University's Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. They moved to Omaha where they met a lot of amazing people, learned a lot in an amazing program and then darted back to the mountains as fast as they could. Next stop: Arizona. Connor attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute while Kate got settled in her first job as a pediatric physical therapist.

Kate and Connor went home to Colorado in February 2021 to visit family and celebrate birthdays. They took Auri out on her walk, mid-blizzard. There, in the falling snow under Mount Bailey, Connor got down on one knee and asked Kate to marry him. She cried like a baby. The answer was obviously yes.
