Yes, Bumble–the dating app–connected us initially, but we didn't waste time meeting up in person that same week. Though Kate's refusal to figure out Seattle public transit to their first date meant Trevor was a whole beer ahead by the time she found parking near the famous Pike Place Market, we connected quickly about our shared interests in skiing, soccer, and food. Trevor was smitten immediately, and Kate was hooked once she got to try his homemade salmon benedict. As it would happen, Kate's lease was up soon after and she moved into Trevor's one bedroom condo in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, with Baxter the cat in tow. We spent the first couple years of life together including lots of travels to Hawaii, Mexico, California, Maine and Vermont. We also did a lot of skiing, hiking and backpacking in the PNW. We enjoyed sharing our love for soccer, skiing, hockey, travel, food, movies and entertaining friends. Then the pandemic hit, and Trevor's one bedroom condo began to feel very small. Despite the uncertainty in the market, we managed to purchase a house together, finding a gem overlooking Lake Washington and around the corner from a popular 300 acre Seward Park. We dove right into home ownership life with a kitchen renovation, having the floors refinished, and painting the whole main floor ourselves while still trying to move in. We have loved our new house and have continued to lead the charmed life we imagined together with many Seattle summer adventures including tubing on the lake, hiking, gardening, Sounders games, and hosting friends. Seattle summers always lead to long, dark and rainy Seattle winters. We enjoy spending these dark days skiing, attending Kraken games, cooking, spending cozy nights in, and taking trips to sunnier places. As our lives together grew, our talks of next steps included a trip to Vermont over the summer of 2021 and ideas of looking at wedding venues. This led to us booking a venue two years out (due to COVID-19) which then created more conversations around planning for a family. In meeting later in life, and Kate being the "planner" type, our family planning talks started as, "let’s just try for a couple months and see what happens," to suddenly, "I'm Pregnant!" The next nine-month adventure included a very sick pregnant Kate, and a special proposal from Trevor in our very own Seward Park as well as a magical babymoon in Maui, Hawaii. We pride ourselves in sharing a true loving partnership in all things in life which now includes this new adventure of parenthood! Liam arrived on October 4th, 2022, and he is the brightest light in our life and already our new travel buddy. We are reveling in being new parents, the house projects continue, and we are both working hard in continuing to create and manifest this truly awesome life together. Through all of our time together, our most cherished is spending time with our friends and family. As life goes, many of you live far and wide and so to have this wedding and to celebrate our love and life together with all of you all is the most special gift. We cannot wait to see all of your beautiful faces and to create a memorable weekend together. Thank you for sharing this journey with us! -Kate, Trevor and Liam.
