Things To Do

We love our hometown and the Madison community we've called home for many years. If you're coming from far away (or even if you're not), do yourself a favor and enjoy something on this list.
Devil's Lake State Park

Devil's Lake State Park

S5975 Park Road, Baraboo, WI 53913
, (608) 356-8301

Wisconsin's most popular state park has been part of both of our lives forever and exemplifies Wisconsin's glacially-influenced beauty. It's so great, there's a chance it's where we'll say "I do".

Memorial Union Terrace

800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706
, (608) 265-3000

If you've ever been here, you know it's a magical place. As graduates of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, the Terrace will always be special to us. Think of us while you watch a sunset over the lake with a beer in hand.

Wollersheim Winery

7876 Wisconsin 188, Sauk City, WI 53583
, (608) 643-6515

If you're looking for a phenomenal glass of wine (or spirits!), you *must* stop by Wollersheim Winery and Distillery on the other side of the river. It's beautiful, excellent, and another place that's special to us.

Blue Spoon Cafe

550 Water Street, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578
, (608) 643-0837

If you're staying in Sauk Prairie overnight, definitely grab brunch at the Blue Spoon. Or maybe some gelato. Plus, Nolan's brother practically runs the joint these days.

Dane County Farmers' Market

330 West Mifflin Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 455-1999

While we are signing some legal stuff and slipping rings on fingers on Saturday morning, you can check out the country's largest producers-only farmer's market on the Capitol Square in Madison. Definitely get some fresh hot, spicy cheesebread from Stella's.

Capital Brewery

7734 Terrace Avenue, Middleton, WI 53562
, (608) 836-7100

If one brewery isn't enough for you, Madison has plenty to offer. Capital Brewery in Middleton is a mainstay, but we also like Wisconsin Brewing Co., Next Door, One Barrel, Ale Asylum, Karben 4, and holy crap there are plenty of breweries.

The Old Feed Mill

114 Cramer Street, Mazomanie, WI 53560
, (608) 795-4909

This is one of our favorite restaurants, just a few miles down the river.

Ski-Hi Fruit Farm

E11219A Ski Hi Road, Baraboo, WI 53913
, (608) 356-3695

If you make it to Devil's Lake, stop by Ski-Hi's orchard for some apples, turnovers, cider, and other treats.

UW-Madison Arboretum

1207 Seminole Highway, Madison, WI 53711
, (608) 263-7888

This has been one of our favorite places since college; a beautiful and expansive wilderness with acre after acre of woods, prairies, orchards, waterways, wildlife and more. And, it's a world-class research facility with a lovely visitor center.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens

3330 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI 53704
, (608) 246-4550

Amazing and beautiful gardens. And, the beer garden next to the lake across the street is worth a visit, too.

For all the days along the way
