Old Town Farmers Market
The Old Town Farmers' Market is the oldest farmers' market in the country. George Washington sent his produce from Mount Vernon to be sold at this Farmer's Market. Located across from The Alexandrian hotel, the market is open every Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Torpedo Factory Art Center
Founded in 1974 in an old munitions plant, the Torpedo Factory Art Center is home to the nation’s largest collection of working-artists’ open studios under one roof. You can find artwork in a wide variety of media–including painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry, stained glass, fiber, printmaking, and sculpture–in 82 artists’ studios. Observe the creative process and ask questions. Purchase original work for your own collection.
