Meredith (aka Mer Bear)

Matron of Honor

I have looked up to my eldest sister for as long as I can remember and don’t anticipate that stopping anytime soon. While I have vague memories of her carrying me all around Disneyland as a kid, some of my more cherished moments with Mer were during my time in San Francisco: Sunday family dinners, being at the hospital when Pierce was born, and laughing over many glasses of wine at Delarosa. This incredible mother of two (soon to be three!) and my brother-in-law, Justin, live in Oakland.

Sam

Best Man

I’ve known Sam for about 23 years, making him one of my oldest friends. It started with tackle football, smacking golf balls at each other, and general boy stuff that made our mother scared. Somehow that teapot made it through our childhood unbroken! More social and better looking (but still shorter) than me, Sam is my brother and my best man and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sam is graduating from Florida State and starting his career in politics in D.C.

Jess (aka Yessica)

Matron of Honor

Jess and I shared a room for the first 11 years of my life and while that came with MANY challenges (ie learning to live with clothes scattered everywhere 😊), it also laid the foundation for a beautiful friendship. I have loved getting to visit her in Fort Worth, SF, and New York, and stepping into her shoes for weekends at a time (but not literally because, let’s be honest, my boat feet wouldn’t fit into them). Jess, her husband, Will, and their Bernese Mountain pup, Birdie, just moved to Austin and I’m delighted that our regular FaceTimes will now be in the same timezone!

Phil

Groomsman

He is one of many new Phils in my life. The first time I met Phil, he and his father and brothers-in-law kidnapped me away from Kate. To this day, Kate doesn’t know what happened. Outside of that, Phil has been nothing but welcoming and I’m super glad to have him as a future brother-in-law. Phil lives with his wife Kristy and two daughters, Ainsley and Stella, in New Jersey.

Beth (aka Bef)

Bridesmaid

All I really knew before meeting Beth for the first time was that Adam considers her to be the funniest person he knows – and she absolutely lived up to that! Beth made me feel completely at ease and a part of the family, even when Adam ditched me to take a nap merely two hours after first meeting his family. I am beyond thrilled to be gaining more siblings in this whole deal and cannot wait for all the family trips to come! Beth and her boyfriend, Chris, live in Fort Lauderdale with their pup, Daisy.

Kevin

Groomsman

Kevin and I were next door neighbors the second time I lived in Indiana. It was only two and half years, but we were destined to be best friends for life and our paths continued to cross. It started by building a tree house together with scrap wood from houses being built in our neighborhood to now working together at United. Kevin lives with his fiancé (!) Steph in Old Town.

Laura (aka Laur)

Bridesmaid

Laur is my oldest friend, so our list of inside jokes ranges from incomprehensible (“GET THE DOG!”) to obvious (red and triangle) and is longer than a gator ride to the Packsaddle Country Club. One of our teachers in middle school used to talk about friends being for a reason, season or a lifetime and we have maintained that we are all three for each other. Laur currently lives in Houston with her husband, Stephen, and their son, James, and it has been an absolute joy to see this woman embrace motherhood.

Nick

Groomsman

Nick and I met living on the same floor freshman year. I don’t know when we knew we were destined to be best friends: when I geeked out over his ATA manuals, when we analyzed whether to live on or off campus with a cost of living excel model, or when we built a “cargo airline operation” to coordinate moving six people off campus. Our lives have taken us many places together and I would trust him with anything. Nick lives with his wife Anum and their daughter Amira in Logan Square.

Elizabeth (aka Ebeth)

Bridesmaid

This lady has influenced my life in big ways (outside of introducing me to GoldenEye, Spice World and taking me on an impromptu trip to San Antonio in high school). She encourages everyone around her to live life to the fullest by understanding that we are all responsible for our own happiness, but goes out of her way to make others happy. It has been an absolute joy getting to live with one of my best friends for the last two years and have her by my side as my relationship with Adam unfolded.

Will

Groomsman

Will! The meatloaf! Will was my randomly assigned freshman year roommate. We hit it off and lived together all four years. He’s my brasian brother from another mother and one of my best friends. From teaching me the words to Big Bang songs to getting me Gatorade when he thought I was going to die to making sure I knew the apartment was on fire or had snakes in it, Will has always been there for me. He is currently living back in his home country of Brazil.

Aly (aka Rally)

Bridesmaid

Aly was one of the first people I met at Vandy (and we’re still not positive that we didn’t meet before then!) and I quickly learned how thoughtful, caring and fun this girl truly is. I couldn’t believe my luck when she told me she was hoping to snag a position in the SF office of her company just a year and a half after I moved there. We celebrated with Tuesday night dinners for the subsequent 3 years and welcomed her husband, Brandon, into the tradition once they moved in together. They are now living in Austin and I’m thrilled that our phone dates no longer span three timezones!

Erik

Groomsman

Erik was Will and I’s next door neighbor all of college. We road tripped across the country together surviving The Souix Falls Inn as well as many a game night together. Somehow two honors students thought it would be a good idea to drive to Orlando to buy a TV off craiglslist with known defects. It was worth it though because that TV provided us Family Guy jokes for the rest of college! Erik lives in Washington.

Margaret (aka Minx)

Bridesmaid

To this day, Margaret and I cannot for the life of us remember how/when we met, but based on photo evidence it was sometime during the first semester of freshman year at Vandy. Regardless, I’m thankful we did and even more thankful for the two years we overlapped in SF. From Nashville to Costa Rica, the Lakehouse to the Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge, and everywhere in between, she inspires me to constantly learn and grow. Minx resides in San Francisco and is one of the silliest, most insightful, strongest cats I know.

Mike

Groomsman

Listen Jaaahn. Mike and I met freshman year at the first Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization meeting of the fall… we were the only two to show up. We both had the same attitude about that though: let’s rebuild this club and also start a business together at the same time. That business, along with many a wine and monopoly night, made us and made our friendship. Mike lives in Lakeview with his girlfriend Connie. Gucci mane!

Leah (aka Royal & Loyal)

Bridesmaid

I truly believe Leah is the wisest person I’ve ever met and has proved that time and time again over the last nine years I’ve known her. We met through a mutual friend our sophomore year of college and after a full day in Franklin, TN together swapping life stories, our friendship was sealed. We have visited each other all over the world and I already can’t wait for the Great Dane and Katie Wild to get back on the dance floor January 12th! Leah and her husband, Reese, live in Louisville.

Jon

Groomsman

Jon was the year behind me at Embry-Riddle. We quickly became friends as we worked on a case challenge for Lufthansa. We survived Dr. Tae Oum’s class together, he came up and worked for United in Chicago, and we moved in together! However when he got married to Liz, she insisted on living with Jon instead of me. The only reason I can forgive her is because she found me Kate! Jon and Liz currently live in Sydney, Australia.

Catherine (aka Cat)

Bridesmaid

When Cat and I lived together senior year of college, our quality time consisted of me sitting on her bed while she cleaned her room and having lengthy life chats (sometimes purely reminiscing about our time abroad together). Cat is phenomenal about bringing people together, so every time I visit Nashville I feel like I get to meet someone new and see how Cat has influenced their life in positive ways, just as she has mine. She and her husband, Hunter, welcomed their first baby, Winfield, in December!

Kevin

Groomsman

Kevin is a legend. He’s been to more countries than you can name, spent years inside an airplane, and his Instagram is so awesome he should be insta-famous (@kwl747). But more than that he is an awesome human being. Though we met in college, we didn’t become good friends until we began traveling together after college: from hiking Torres del Paine, to white water rafting the Nile, to the hot springs of Iceland (third time’s a charm). Kevin lives in Washington State, though you are just as likely to bump into him in an airport.

Whitney (aka Whitnay)

Bridesmaid

The first day I met Whitney was the day we moved into our apartment in Aix-en-Provence to start our semester abroad together. She was fairly anxious about the setup because my Facebook interests consisted of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, but I ended up winning her over (whilst rocking a mean leather jacket) and we became fast friends. Now, we both live in Chicago and I feel very lucky to have one of my best friends just an L ride away!

Arjun

Groomsman

While Arjun and I met in college at Embry-Riddle, we didn’t become close friends until he moved up to Chicago and started working for United after graduating a couple years after me. He’s super kind and hospitable (Casa Gupta is always an option including when I was without an apartment for a month). If you ever run a race with him, have solid meet-up plans after and don’t tell him how good he’s doing mid race! Arjun lives in River North with his wife, Sneha and their dog Gus Gus.

Brooke (aka Brookie)

Bridesmaid

On July 25th, 2012, I knew I had met a new best friend when Brooke and I came up with the idea to dress up as thestrals for Halloween. Yep, thestrals – and our ensembles ended up being killer. Our love for Harry Potter wasn’t the only thing that bonded us, though, and over the following four years Brooke became a mainstay in my adventures around SF (usually ending up at Wine Bar/Bar Jar/Wine Jar). She and her husband, James, reside in San Francisco with their two pups.

Dan

Groomsman

Dan probably feels extremely disgraced to be last on this list, but he’s my newest friend from the group. What Dan lacks in time he more than makes up with extremes. He was in my new hire class at United and before he left United, he Nick, and I would figure out life’s many issues during lunch. We travelled the world together, from walking 25 miles across Rome and taking the sketchiest ride to the airport to Shinto shrines in Tokyo and everywhere in between. Dan wears his heart on his sleeve and is one of the most genuine people you’ll meet. He currently lives in Kentucky.
