Dr. Seuss once said “you know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” Sometimes your dreams comes true, sometimes you create new ones, but sometimes you discover dreams you never knew you had. This, indeed is the story of the future Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chazal. How did a Pittsburgh girl meet a small town boy from Ocala? There she was standing across the room from her future fiancé, laughing, enjoying the company of her friends. Little did she know, Chase was working up the courage to talk to her, not realizing he was admiring his future wife. After meeting Karin, being honest with his feelings, and being encouraged by a mutual friend, Lauryn, the road to love began. The first date was a win, not just because UCF had won their football game, but because both Chase and Karin, as Seuss predicted, could not sleep after. Fireworks were certainly going off on New Years because, it was official... they were official, and like every other couple, they have had their ups and downs. Nothing in life every comes easy, you must always put work into it. Sometimes the work is fun - spoiling Chase with some home made bread and giving Karin a pair of lavender converse. But other times the work is more difficult - balancing schedules, distance, and friends with spending time with each other. Love is a crazy thing, some say Karin is crazy. She has more energy than the average two year old. You may think you know everything about Harry Potter, but I promise you, she knows more. You may even think you love marvel movies, but I assure you, Karin loves them more. Karin is the type of person that always does more. She wants everyone to have what they need and more. She wants Chase to have eggplant parmesan on his plate, but also homemade potato fries, freshly steamed broccoli, and a nice cold glass of southern sweet tea, and everyday she will fall in love with Chase more and more.
Patience is a virtue that takes, well patience, to develop. Karin always says: “when God created Chase, He took the whole bottle of patience and flipped it upside down.” Chase has certainly mastered the art of being gentle. He is Karin’s rock. Her comfort space. Her home, and now he will be her husband. He gives of himself before anyone else. He truly is a gift that keeps on giving. So, now it’s been many home cooked meals, late night FaceTime chats, marvel movies, and trips to Universal later and it has become clear they are meant to be. Perhaps, the scariest moments were meeting the family, but who could not love seeing the two of them together? No one can deny that God has brought them together. God has given her him and him her. She has found her patient safe haven and he has found his beautiful crazy. Here we are today. Sixteen months later. A ring on her finger and a promise to love each other for the rest of their lives. Dreams could not compare to the reality that will be in 2020. So here’s to many more sleepless nights, UCF wins, universal dates, and unconditional love. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. Mark 10:9 I love you both Kristen <3
