Chris and Kari met in September of 2017 on a blind date set up (and chaperoned) by their mutual friend, Joan. She felt like they had a lot in common, similar personalities, and knew they were individually amazing people, so together they couldn't be anything less. Thus a lunch date for 3 was planned. Kari was apprehensive to say the least, especially when Chris showed up late. His reasoning... he was fishing. However, after a plate of pasta and endless bread sticks, the stars aligned and a second date was planned and the rest is history!
As Chris' deployment grew near, his anticipation to make Kari his wife grew stronger. (To be fair, he had been wanting to propose since the first week of December. He said "when you know, you know"). Understanding that Kari isn't the typical bride he picked a ring that suits her funky aesthetic but wanted to do more something that would last the test of time. The watch was for time, and the ring was for forever.
