Thanks to our social parents, we were introduced to each other in the mountains of Colorado. Our first conversation was on E Chair in Breckenridge, and it was "all downhill from there." When we finally found ourselves in the same zip code again a year later, we met up for a hike in Brattleboro, VT. Brett invited Kari to head up to northern Vermont a day later to spend Labor Day Weekend at a friend's camp. Kari initially declined the offer, but made a spur of the moment decision to drive three hours to spend a weekend on a remote lake with someone that she had met twice in her life. We unpacked our bags and quickly noticed that we shared an appreciation for the finer things in life with our identical toiletries: Dr. Bronner's, Tom's Toothpaste, and Burt's Bees lip balm. Our bond quickly grew that weekend, and come Monday we couldn't wait to spend more time adventuring together.
