We met in 2012 during our first semester at Missouri S&T (#zetasforlife) and were best friends by that summer. Our friendship continued to grow through many ski trips, camping trips, being whitewater rafting guides together, and our shared love of adventure. We knew our friendship was something more. We were inseparable. After graduation, Kairsti began working as a Project Engineer in St. Louis, MO and Karen commissioned as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Kairsti proposed in August of 2018. We decided that it would be best to officially get married before the chaos of military life began to move our lives all over the country. We planned to have a celebration with family and friends the following year. On September 23, 2018, we drove to our favorite spot on the Little Piney River with a marriage certificate, a few friends, and our two dogs to have our special day! A week later Karen was off to Quantico, VA for seven months of The Basic School and Kairsti stayed in St. Louis with the doggos. In June of 2019, we were together again and moved to Pace, FL to begin the long and hard journey of flight school! It has been quite an adventure, with many long nights of studying and long days of flying. Karen's performance in training would determine what she would fly for the rest of her career and where we would move next. All that work paid off and selection day came. FIGHTER JETS! This past January, we settled into our new home in Kingsville, TX to begin our next chapter. After all the craziness of flight school and the global pandemic, we are so excited to finally be able to share a special day with our friends and family! Sorry, it took us so long. Life doesn't always go as planned and we love it that way!
