We were introduced the way so many couples are these days, through an online dating site. Karen noticed in Brandon's profile a desire for travel, healthy living, a love of animals, family and faith. She remembers that he described himself as thoughtful, and loyal. So, Karen took a chance and swiped right; saying "Hello" and asking more about some of his profile. To her pleasant surprise, Brandon responded with a long thoughtful reply and his own series of thoughtful questions. This led to a couple of weeks of chatting through the App; then to phone conversations and a Sunday afternoon tea date in Old Town at Misha's Coffee.
Getting to know one another has been a Joy! We share our love for adventures of all kinds and interests like going on road trips, admiring art, nature, fitness, trying new recipes, reading to each other, and having thoughtful conversations. Along the way we were able to meet each other’s families who have been very welcoming. Brandon has adopted Karen's dog's Noah and Asher as his own; a must for Karen. Now day's Karen is left wondering if Brandon may be their new favorite?! We have been enjoying getting to know the important people of each others lives; dear family and friends. We are on the lookout for more exciting shared adventures together!
On a Monday night in late March, following the end of an unexpected dinner at the Brazilian restaurant, Texas de Brazil and with the help of Brandon's incredible friends and former colleagues. The question was posed; beautifully written on the plate, with the ring accompanying Karen's dessert and a line of restaurant staff. Sweetly spoken sentiments and the question proposed on bent knee; A joyful “YES” was given! The delighted couple received many cheers, applause and congratulations.
Brandon and Karen married in a small intimate ceremony in Shenandoah National Park November 2023. Please join us in the warmer season to celebrate with us our new marriage! Come enjoy a catered picnic and fun for our dear family and friends including children.
