We’re getting married!

We grew up together! We lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same elementary, middle, and high school. We often spent our childhood summers at our neighborhood pool where we constantly ran into another. We began to get closer in middle school when all the neighborhood kids got together and started to hang out. Ethan expressed to me that he was beginning to have feelings but it took me several months to feel the same. We started waking up early on summer mornings to go fishing or walk around the park together before the pool would open. Then Ethan finally asked me to be his girlfriend in June 2014 right before our freshmen year of high school. I thought it was going to be a summer fling, I never imagined that ten years later we’d be getting married! It’s about damn time!

It was on a Saturday in March. My maid of honor asked me to go out for happy hour. Initially, I wasn’t up for it but Ethan kept urging me to go. He told me earlier that week that he had made reservations at one of our favorite restaurants, Bonefish Grill, and to get back by 5pm. When I got home, I opened our apartment door to our song playing that we picked out back in 2014, rose petals, and tea candles on the floor leading into our bedroom. He stood there waiting for me with a bouquet of roses and the ring. Once I walked into our room, he got on one knee and proposed to me. It was the easiest yes ever!
