Nick and Emily's story starts way before they were even a blink in their parents eyes. Their lives have weirdly intertwined through the years dating back to Emily's Dad, John, being a young-blooded new kid at NASA. Nick's Yia-Yia, Poppy, scooped John up under her wing and became his "work mom" through their time together at NASA. Fast forward many years, Nick and Emily's parents both made Fellowship Bible Church their home. Nick and Emily ran in similar circles but never knew the other existed. That was until Ben Good invited the two to be a part of the young adult leadership team at their aforementioned church. After some time on the team, Nick dropped a comment to the guys about his interest in Emily. Amanda and Davis, two of Emily and Nick's close friends, immediately went to work trying to evaluate the potential. Emily was unsure, to say the least, despite encouragement from two of her best friends Liz and Jacob. Nick was undeterred and started leaving bread crumbs of Kanye on his Instagram stories to get Emily's attention and it worked. The two started sporadically messaging mostly about the Kanye documentary and then Nick got the gumption to actually text her and ask her on a date. Emily declined. But a few weeks later and lots more texts about everything from Kanye to Zach Bryan, the Browns and the Sopranos, Emily invited Nick to trivia at Brew Dog and the two have been inseparable since. Even through one questionable moment when Nick told Emily he loved her and she responded "Ditto Koudelka." These two are the best of friends at the core of it. They match each other step for step whether they're on a 3 day "young and fun" agenda or having potato days barely leaving the couch. No one makes Emily laugh like Nick and no one knows Nick better than Emily. He relishes in her possessive fried mac and cheese bite habits and she is by his side as he sweats through 3 different shirts in the course of one Browns game. They can't wait to start their married life together and switch from "Ditto Koudelka" to "Ditto Kalis."
