A random Tuesday and a friends spare ticket to an ‘emo’ concert.. led to us crossing paths in February of 2020. Fast forward to a twisty 9 months later.. phone calls, FaceTimes, and talking to a best friend you’d never met.. Jami got on a plane and landed herself in Seattle, Wa.. where Kalen picked her up and they met for the first time on November 11th, 2020. Before leaving that first trip from Washington, she knew she was in trouble.. Kalen was so much more than just a best friend. He decided to explore their connection further and flew to Texas in December 2020, and from there they locked an established relationship down on 12.31.20 and the rest is history. From snow storms to touring all over the country - everything is better when we are together.

“Am I Dreaming?” - Jami, when Kalen asked her to marry him. We share a “spot” off the coast of Washington down by the ocean in De Moines. This was the spot that Jami realized (in 2020) she had the biggest crush on Kalen.. We visit this spot every time we are in the state. And on a certain morning in June 2022, Kalen picked her up from CrossFit and blindly drove her to their spot, and asked if she would marry him. ..We wouldn’t be reading this, if she didn’t say ‘yes’.

Kalen planned a weekend trip to visit for Valentine’s Day before having to return to work. Upon arriving in TX the weather took a turn for the worst. 8in of snow and ice overnight turned all of TX into an ice skating rink. The airport shut down, roads were closed, no electricity, no running water, and stores ran out of food. They were forced to melt snow to flush the toilet. Stand outside HEB for 4 hours to get snacks. And most importantly, spend 13 straight days sitting inside bonding over a once in a life time experience.
