How We Met

We first met at Floyd Central High School at ages 16 and 18. Throughout high school, college, and beyond, we have grown so much together. Now, 4 trips around the sun, 2 apartments, 2 fur babies, and 1 new city later, we are finally tying the knot!

Our Engagement

For months, Kayla went around to all of their friends & family asking for pictures of them holding signs that said "Say Yes," or in some cases, "Why the Hell Not?" Once all the photos had been collected, she put together a scrapbook with a page at the end asking the question we all knew was coming. With one ring in hand and the other in a pocket of the scrapbook, Kaitlin began ugly crying and said "Of course!" Afterwards, she informed everyone that she had to pee in a VERY BAD way, then proceeded to sit down on a box that was wrapped like a package for the Christmas display to take a breather. The box broke and she fell in a blaze of glory. It was a picture perfect moment, to say the least.

Our Ceremony

Amidst COVID-19, we made the decision to have a private ceremony and hold off on a reception until we could celebrate with everyone! Here's the story of that day: Everyone told us to expect at least one thing to go wrong on the day of our wedding, and they were certainly right! It was a beautiful spring day and everything was set up outside when, about an hour before the ceremony, a really heavy storm came through. We began scrambling to strap down tarps and save our decor from the rain and hail! Luckily, it stopped just long enough to have our ceremony outside and take some photos! As we were finishing up pictures, it began raining again on our guests who were waiting for us to join them for a mini-reception. Everyone grabbed a candle or a tablecloth and ran inside (except for the awesome dads who stayed in the rain to save our arch from falling off a cliff.) We moved the party inside and winged it from there! Even with a pandemic and a monsoon, we had a perfect day. We are so excited about our marriage and can't wait to celebrate with everyone during the reception!
