We first met at a birthday party we were both attending at a restaurant/bar called Oddfella's here in Floyd. To say there was mutual attraction is a massive understatement. We DEFINATELY noticed each other. The party was lame, and Jeff retired to another local establishment (Ray's). Shortly thereafter, Kaelyn showed up (there's a story behind this, which will be omitted here). We struck up an instant and easy conversation, and it became quite obvious from the very start that there was much more than just physical attraction. We spent the remainder of the evening chatting and laughing while tucked away in our own little corner. We exchanged numbers, met the next day for lunch, and have literally been together ever since!
We had already talked about getting married. As a matter of fact, we'd know for years that that was where we were headed. We'd already even figured out how and where the wedding would be, and had been looking at rings. Jeff had planned on waiting for just the right moment to pop the big question in some grandly romantic fashion. But he couldn't wait. While at work one day, he'd simply had enough of the waiting. He left work, went straight to the jewelry store, bought the ring, barged into Kaelyn's home office, and simply stated he couldn't wait another day, another hour, another minute - and nervously got on one knee, and asked Kaelyn to forever be his, to be his partner in life, to be his wife. She said yes!!!
We have an incredibly special and amazing life together. We are the very best of friends, and feel unbelievably fortunate to have found each other ("on this God forsaken mountain" as we put it), and to have the awesome opportunity to share our lives with one another. Not a day passes without us laughing together, trading knowing and loving glances, and feeling the warmth and depth of our love as it grows and is cultivated. We have an uncanny ability to, no matter what struggles life might be throwing at us, always come to a place of unity, togetherness, and love. We are each others center, each others home, each others person, we are soulmates, and as stated, best friends. We often say to each other "it's us against the world" and "it's you and me babe", and that's how we live our lives, happily enjoying our little slice of heaven, whether it's watching another beautiful sunset on the pasture, laughing at our ridiculous pets, holding hands as we stomp through Floyd Fest, or just sitting with each other on the couch. Together, happy, and deeply, madly in love.
