How We Met Our journey began during our freshman year of college. As athletes, we often crossed paths— Caroline played soccer and Kaelan played lacrosse. Despite being in the same places, we never officially met until the fall of our senior year. It was at a toga party hosted at Kaelan's college house that we finally connected. From that night on, our paths were no longer just crossing, they were merging, leading us on many adventures and ultimately to this wonderful time in our lives. When We Knew We each had our own moment of realization. For Kaelan, it was when Caroline decided to move across the country to Colorado with him which was a significant step outside of her comfort zone. Her trust and willingness to take that leap showed him that she was the one. For Caroline, it was during a difficult period after the loss of her beloved family dog, Cooper. Kaelan's unwavering support, comfort, and presence during that time made Caroline realize that he was her rock and the person with whom she wanted to spend her life with. The Proposal The proposal took place on the Surf City beach in Long Beach Island, NJ—a place filled with cherished memories for both of us. Caroline grew up visiting this beach and learned to surf there. It was only fitting that she said “Yes” there. On the day of the proposal, Caroline, an avid runner, took off down the beach with the family dog, Jax. Kaelan had to run to catch up to her. While 'popping the question', Kaelan had to restrain the dog from running off again. Amidst the laughter and joy, Caroline said “Yes,” and our adventures together continued.
