Back in 2019 we both had gone to a summer missionary training camp, for CEF, located in Grand Rapids. We had seen each other around campus and played a few games together here or there. We didn’t really connect that much. Kaelah had become good friends with Ryan’s sisters. Through the year they would occasionally get on the phone together and play piano tiles as a group.

In 2021 we had reconnected at CYIA and slowly through the two weeks we couldn’t stop looking at each other. We could feel a small connection together. At the end of the two weeks on July 2nd I had gone up to Ryan and told him I liked him. Three months later Ryan and I went to homecoming together as friends and at the end of the night he had asked me to be his girlfriend.
