The Story of Us

8/24/2018

As most of you know karaoke has been a huge part of our relationship. Our story has two very different perspectives but ultimately the same result. As Jason puts it, "It was a Thursday night. I decided to go blow off some steam after work at The Cowshed. I was having some drinks, playing some pool; it was fun night. I had my headphones on, listening to music like I usually do, & happened to take one of the ear pieces off to talk to the guy I was playing against & listen to the karaoke in the background. Then I heard it. I believe the song was called, "When You're Good to Mama", which I had never heard before. I was intrigued. It was a weird song! The person singing it was really good! It seemed to fit her whilst she was on stage. In my somewhat inebriated state I decided to go talk to her. I told her she was a really good singer & asked what she wanted to drink. By the end of the night, she asked me to learn a song to sing with her the next time we saw each other & she still hasn't gotten rid of me yet! So it looks like it worked!" From Rebecca's side of things, "So, it was a typical night at the Shed. As always, my best friend & I were people-watching. It was a great night with a lot of new faces. Naturally, we like to sing for the back row & I was feeling the Broadway fantasy at that moment so I decided to go up & sing some Chicago. A while later, this cute lookin' guy in a Bronco's cap walks up to me & in a somewhat slurred voice says, "Hi there! I just wanted to tell you that you are a great singer. You're so pretty! I needed some liquid courage to come talk to you. Can I buy you a drink?" Well, who am I to turn down free drinks & compliments! We chatted for a bit then went up to sing. I was very impressed with his version of "Dream On" so I asked him to learn "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" for me. Fast-forward to December 2019 & we were still singing it whenever we were at Cowshed together. After 2 years of duets, laughs, & pool games - here we are!"

Why March 7th?

03/07/2019, 2020, 2021...

From Rebecca - "We started dating at the very beginning of January, 2019. Quickly we realized that we knew we had something special. We made it official on March 7th, 2019. Jason told me that he believed a year was a fairly decent amount of time to gauge whether or not he could see us spending the rest of our lives together. I, honestly, scoffed at the idea. A year? Not nearly enough time. But within a span of 365 days, we saw each other during some of our lowest lows and during moments of pure happiness and bliss. We were living together within 6 months of being a couple and we just fit. When March 7th, 2020 arrived, Jason made good on his promise and asked me to be his forever. In just one year I knew it was right. Well, March 7th is coming around again and what better day to tie the knot than a day that has meant so much already. Here is to many more Marches to come!"
