It wouldn't be New Orleans without a parade! The NOLA Holiday parade will feature more than 25 specially designed floats augmented by bands, dance troupes and other elements. The Chalmette Battlefield was the only thing Matt requested to do/eat/drink/see on his first trip to New Orleans. He enjoyed it.
The Preservation Hall is a music venue in the French Quarter founded in 1961 to protect, preserve, and perpetuate traditional New Orleans Jazz. The hall is also home to the world-famous Preservation Hall Band! Make a reservation to see one of their nightly shows on their website (be sure to book in advance!)
Ever wonder why New Orleans is home to the National WWII Museum? Higgins Industries, based in New Orleans, was famous for the design and production of the "Higgins boats," which were the amphibious landing crafts used during the invasion of Normandy. This museum is a must-see!
