Good hiking here and all along Chena Hot Springs Road. No cell service. $5 day parking.
Natural hot springs about an hour out of Fairbanks. Developed facilities. Bring quarters for locker room lockers. Sandals or flip flops recommended. Bring a water bottle because the hot springs are dehydrating.
Great museum with lots of awesome exhibits.
This is an amazing locally-sourced shop with unique Alaska-made things. Great for souvenirs and other things you definitely need but never knew you needed.
Our local farmers market with vendor booths, food trucks, and freshly-grown veggies
Free place by the University with walking paths through beautiful local plants and flowers. On Thursdays there are free Music in the Garden events at 7pm with different local bands every week, but show up no later than 6:30 for a shot at parking! Blanket or camp chair recommended, also a great event to bring a picnic dinner to! Very very kid-friendly!
Canoe, raft, kayak, fatbike rentals along the Chena River. We can contribute two life jackets for borrowing.
Fairbanks is known for Thai food. All are good, this one is one of our favorites. Sam's Thai is actually our top favorite, but it's take-out only.
Best pitas and falafel around! Only open seasonally so don't miss out! Outdoor seating.
Fantastic restaurant downtown good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Also makes the best mochas we've found so far in town.
Phenomenal pizza behind the east ramp of the airport. Aviation-themed dining where you can watch the planes take off while you eat.
$1.50 hot dogs need I say more.
Nice local brewery if that's your thing. Mostly outdoor seating, some indoor. Food truck schedules on their website.
Another nice local brewery. Home of the national award-winning Aroma Dome IPA.
