This is the center of town and has lots of cute shops, galleries, an old fashioned candy shoppe, and lots of great places to grab a quite bite (personal favorites of ours are Dametra Cafe and Katy's Place). As you shop, check out some of the dozens of wine tasting rooms within feet of each other. The parents of the bride love Scheid Vineyards, plus Jaime and Justin love Carmel Road, Wrath, and Dawn's Dream Winery. Just make sure you make the shuttle at 2:15 :)
This was the first place we went to celebrate our engagement! We will be spending time here on the Sunday after the wedding (arriving at 11 am) to catch up with loved ones. Look for the yellow parasol with our names on it!
If you're hoping to live out your "Big Little Lies" fantasy, this is the spot! This day trip may be too risky to do on the day of the wedding, but if you're looking to extend your trip we are not that far from world famous Bigsby Bridge into Big Sur!
If you're driving the scenic and beautiful California 1 highway in either direction, we recommend a quick pit stop at Arcangeli Grocery in Pescadero for the world's most delicious artichoke bread (it's worth the line!), or head to Swanton's farm to pick your own strawberries. If you're feeling ambitious, you can kayak along Elkhorn Slough and see tons of sea life up close. There are countless farm stands along the side of the road to pick up local artisan treats, too!
