We can't wait to see you in Maine! Lots of love, Scott + Julie
It all really started about 25 years ago, when Scott's parents decided at the ripe old age of 2 that it was about time he learned how to ski. A few hundred miles away, Julie's parents were thinking the same thing (she didn't start skiing until she was 3 though). Fast forward a couple decades to the fateful Bentley University Ski Club trip where the stars finally aligned. We met on Friday and skied together all day Saturday and Sunday, even sat with each other on the bus back to school. We were dating a few weeks later and never looked back.
After a couple fun years dating in college, Scott graduated in 2015 and patiently waited around for Julie to do the same in 2017. We moved into an apartment in Cambridge, MA. After a year, we got the itch for an adventure and a little change of scenery, so we packed our lives up into a U-haul and drove across the country to Denver Colorado where we now live. Last summer we moved from our apartment to a cute rental house in the northwest corner of Denver. The new back yard was just screaming for a dog so we finally pulled the long awaited trigger and got our puppy Copper. Colorado has been treating the three of us very well and it turns out the skiing out here isn't too shabby at all.
Julie thought her friend had invited us to a casual Saturday afternoon of fly fishing up in the mountains. He never showed up, which is good because he and every other friend in Denver knew what Julie didn't. On a little shoal in the middle of the river, just before Julie put her waders on, Scott popped down on a knee. Julie was completely surprised but managed to eek out a "yes". Luckily Julie also hadn't caught on to part two of the plan. The "romantic hotel room" Scott had said he rented in the mountains turned out to instead be an AirBnB full of friends waiting to celebrate the occasion.
