Maid of Honor
She is my best friend extraordinaire and always only a phone call away. I have a hard time explaining how I know Lauren and why she means so much because I’ve never not known Lauren and I couldn’t imagine this day without her. I miss living close to her. Nowadays she lives in Rockville Centre, with two adorable Frenchtons (french bulldog/boston terrier mix) Lucy and Penny, and an equally adorable fiancé Laith.
Best Man
Nick has been my Best Man far longer than actually knowing who I was going to marry. We have spent our lives chasing the absurd when it was just the two of us. Whether it was building forts in the woods or using a boat to sled down snowy hills near my parents, I can count on an adventure with Nick. I am so glad he will be standing next to me as Julie and take this leap into our own adventure.
Bridesmaid
A close friend from grad school who is always there to put some war paint on, keep you moving, and make sure you don’t get too lost, though you may end up on the other side of town making peach pie instead. She is a painter extraordinaire spending her time working on amazing models and props for Disney on Ice, killing it at the gym, and hanging out with her adorable cat, Dr. Houdini Sweaterpants.
Groomsman
James and I have been friends for over 30 years. We used to live only blocks apart growing up, and he has been a part of my family for nearly as long as I have known him. I can't imagine not having him there on this day, and I am sure that he will have the whole wedding laughing with his stories.
Bridesmaid
Marybeth and I get concerned if we call out of the blue because something must be wrong. We met in high school Global History I but bonded in Global History II over the never ending French Revolution, trench warfare, and poor life choices. Nowadays she spends her time helping run a sheet music licensing and distribution company and finishing up her second masters to be a magical librarian. Marybeth has a lovely wife named Christina and two cats named Mahler and Melody Pond.
Groomsman
Tom is surprisingly one of those guys that I can see being part of any of my friend groups over the years. With us sharing backgrounds in theatre, woodworking, gaming, and a love for ridiculous animals as pets (he had a tortoise named Crush and I a hedgehog named Renfield), there is always something for us to nerd out about. How convenient that he’s also my future brother in law. Tom has an amazing wife Jennie, is the father of an incredible little girl, and will be having a son later this year.
Bridesmaid
We met in Mrs. Chase’s art class on Thursday after middle school and through high school where we spent half the class talking or laughing. The coolest middle school teacher in Baltimore and the most honest, eclectic, and enthusiastic person you’ll ever meet. When she’s not teaching, Clare is often traveling, or absorbing every last bit of Jane Austen, horror films, or Pre-Raphaelite romanticism. Clare has a sweet puppers, Amelie, and a few god-puppers that love to snuggle.
Groomsman
Adam Ressa and I worked together as set decorators for Walt Disney Imagineering, before life took him back up to Virginia. Adam is somewhere between an amazing organizer and an evil mastermind with the level of detail he pours in to things, and knowing him.... he has something up his sleeve for this wedding. He once learned to play Tom Petty on the ukulele for me as a birthday present, so I can only imagine what he is going to do at our wedding.
