We met like so many people these days do… on Hinge. It was the height of the global pandemic in October 2020 when we first started chatting. Adam had a prompt on his profile about disliking the show Friends and Julie immediately had to try to understand why. After only a few days of talking, Julie asked Adam if he wanted to meet for a drink. Adam agreed and our first date was at the Winslow in NYC. From the beginning of our relationship, everything felt easy, natural and seamless, just like the past three-plus years have been. Which leads us to the proposal… On April 1, 2023 (not an April Fools joke), Julie, Adam and Julie’s father were driving out to the hamptons where Julie’s mother, sister, nephews and niece were anxiously waiting, knowing what was to come. As soon as we entered the house, Julie immediately headed to pet/lay with the dog, which gave Adam and the rest of the family just enough time to prepare. When Julie walked into the living room, each child was holding a sign that said “will” “you” “marry” and Adam was holding “me” with a bouquet of red roses. After getting down on one knee, Julie said “yes!” and the rest is history. Adam’s family had flown in from Florida a few days prior and both families had dinner together in Southampton at “La Parmigiana.” It was perfect in every way.
