No: this event will be age-restricted to those 18 and older.
No, plus-ones are not permitted unless specified on the invitation or approved by the bride and groom in advance.
Invitations were mailed out on January 12th, 2024. Invitations will include the names of specified plus-ones. RSVP can be submitted any time after invitations are received.
Please RSVP by April 16th, 2024, or any time before then. Please include whether you will be bringing an item to the potluck dinner, and if so, what item.
Alcohol will not be permitted, as the venue is within a Pennsylvania State Park, and it is against regulations. This encompasses all alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and champagne.
Attire will largely be up to the guests. The bride will be wearing purple, so we kindly ask that you refrain from wearing purple, but otherwise, there are no restrictions. The bridesmaids and groomsmen will be wearing blue, but guests are not restricted from wearing it, nor are black or white forbidden. It is an outdoor venue with a gravel parking lot, so keep those things in mind regarding choice of footwear and clothing. Formalwear is permitted but not required.
Yes, there will be food provided. The meal will be potluck style, but the bride's father will be providing smoked brisket and smoked pulled pork as main entrée items.
Guests should arrive around 1:30, as the ceremony will begin at 2.
There will be approximately 35 guests at this event.
No, the ceremony will be Self-Uniting, meaning there will be no officiant. The bride and groom will conduct the ceremony and speak their own vows.
Yes, a Self-Uniting ceremony is legal in Pennsylvania, as long as the bride and groom have applied for a self-uniting license rather than a standard marriage license. The practice comes from the Quakers, who don't have religious leaders to serve as officiants, but it is legal regardless of religion as long as the license has two witness signatures and is filed in the proper manner.
Not at all. While the bride and groom appreciate any gifts, we are most concerned about spending this special day with family and friends. We prioritize presence over presents.
Yes, there is a registry for this wedding. It can be found on the registry tab of this website, although most of the items are listed through Amazon. The web address is https://www.zola.com/wedding/juliannaandjayson/registry
Yes, there will be both music and dancing. For the most part, music will be played through a speaker system, but there will also be intermittent live music from the bride's family. Dancing is encouraged but not required.
Seating will be at wooden picnic tables. Guests are also encouraged to bring outdoor chairs for their comfort.
Guests are free to take photos with cameras or their phones, with one exception. We ask that guests refrain from using their phones during the ceremony, so that they are fully engaged. We have a family friend taking photos during this time, and we politely request that everyone remain off of their devices until the ceremony is complete.
The parking lot is gravel, but it is quite close to the venue, and there are no stairs. Overall, the venue is handicap accessible. There are indoor restrooms close to the pavilion, but it is a short walk to those restrooms, in the Education Building across the parking lot.
Follow King's Gap Road up the mountain, following the signs for the Cameron-Masland Mansion. Stay on King's Gap Road, but mind the signage, as there are roads branching off of the main one. Continue to the loop at the end of the road, where the Mansion and the Education Center building are. Either turn left down the gravel path to the pavilion parking lot or park in the main lot. The pavilion where the wedding will be held will be to the left down the gravel path, while the Mansion will be in front and the Education Center Building to the right.
Masks will be encouraged but not required. The venue is open air, so contagion should be fairly limited.
