Things To Do

If you have the chance, we highly recommend exploring some of our favorite parts of Costa Rica!
Santa Teresa Beach

Santa Teresa Beach

Santa Teresa Beach, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica

Santa Teresa’s international community blossomed in the 2000s as foreign adventure-seekers discovered its confluence of natural attractions: white-sand beaches, reliable, long-breaking waves and innumerable species of wildlife. And while New Age hippies still populate the town’s scores of yoga studios, Santa Teresa is now evolving to cater to the growing number of comfort-loving creative-industry types who’ve discovered its charms, excellent small hotels, villas and restaurants. Tourism is the main source of income of most families as it now boasts some yoga retreats, surf clubs and affordable luxury accommodation for visitors from the USA and further afield. There are many hotels and Airbnb options! For information about things to do, you can go to TripAdvisor or simply go to this website's FAQs for contact info!

La Paz Waterfall Gardens

La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Alajuela Province, Costa Rica

La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park is the Most Popular Nature Tour in the San Jose Area featuring Five Famous Waterfalls and The Largest Animal Sanctuary in Costa Rica. It is by far the best place to see wildlife in Costa Rica. The Peace Lodge has been voted The Top Hotel in its region by TripAdvisor repeatedly over the years and is the perfect destination to stay for your first or last night in the country given its close proximity to San Jose Airport and, at the same time, its unique mountain rainforest environment.

Monteverde

Monteverde

Monteverde, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica

There is more than one way to enjoy the beauty of Monteverde's cloud forests, so whatever your energy level or ability, you won't find yourself excluded from this experience. Hike down the rainforest trails; choose a canopy tour with a suspension bridge; or take aerial photographs from the vantage point of a sky tram — there is an option for you.

Manuel Antonio Beach

Manuel Antonio Beach

Quepos, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica

The people of Costa Rica decided to preserve, for future generations, one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. Although it is the country’s smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is unequaled. Manuel Antonio contains a charming combination of the rain forest, beaches, and coral reefs. These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest, and the snorkeling is excellent, too. The forest is home for sloths, iguanas, snakes, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, humpback whales, white-faced monkeys and millions of colorful little crabs. The trail that winds around Punta Catedral features some spectacular views. The park is easy to reach, south of the town of Quepos, and is near a good selection of hotels and restaurants. You get to experience many things: hikes inside the national park, water activities such as jet ski rentals, ATV rentals, and horseback riding amongst many others!

Arenal Volcano

Arenal Volcano

Alajuela Province, Costa Rica

Positioned within Costa Rica’s fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal Volcano is an unavoidable presence while traveling within this part of the country. It is tall and imposing and has a reputation that precedes itself. In October 2010, Arenal entered into an indeterminate resting phase. For the time being, visitors will be unable to watch the much-loved explosions, although that could change within a matter of months or years. Travelers to Arenal will still enjoy its bountiful sights, sounds and activities— there are mountains to be hiked, lakes to be fished, hot springs, horse back riding, and rivers to be floated. As one of the country’s most scenic and accessible areas, it is a requisite stop on any tour of Costa Rica.

Tortuguero National Park

Tortuguero National Park

Tortuguero, Limón Province, Costa Rica

This is one of the few Costa Rican National Parks where walking quietly isn’t necessarily the best way to see things. The marked trail along the beach is used mostly for observing turtle nesting, but the best way to see most of the park is from a boat. That doesn’t mean you can’t get a workout while nature watching; there are plenty of places to rent canoes and kayaks. The exceptionally high rainfall, and rich environment where the freshwater meets the sea makes the beaches, canals, lagoons and wetlands of Tortuguero areas of exceptional biodiversity and opportunity for nature lovers.

Chiquita Beach

Chiquita Beach

Limón, Costa Rica

All the romance of a tropical beach vacation awaits in stunning Playa Chiquita, a small village along the Costa Rica Caribbean coast. White-sand beaches and clear blue waters beckon visitors to bask in the balmy air of this region, which also offers plenty of adventure close at hand. Playa Chiquita make an excellent base for launching hiking trips to nearby towns and nature areas, providing you a calming place to return to after a day of exertion. This wild and wonderful country is a hiker’s paradise.
