We're getting married!

It all began on Labor Day weekend, 2015. Phoebe was just beginning her second year at UMass Amherst and Julian was kicking off his final year as a senior. The two were celebrating one of the first weekends back at school by partaking in a good old-fashioned day drink -- or as they called it in Western Massachusetts: a "Labor Dayge." Shortly after arriving, Phoebe notices a handsome frat boy playing with a puppy. Naturally, she made her way over to say hi to the cute fella (the puppy, of course). After introducing herself, they realized they were wearing strikingly similar outfits. And in the year 2015, what else would you do in this instance? Photo opp! They snapped a photo together just two minutes after meeting one another; Phoebe couldn’t wait to upload it to her September Facebook album. A few hours passed and what was meant to be a quick introduction turned into an entire day of Phoebe and Julian getting to know each other. By the end of the day, Julian had secured Phoebe’s phone number, and the two went their separate ways. Over the next few weeks, Phoebe and Julian started spending more and more time together. Weeks turned into months, and Phoebe even visited Julian over winter break in New York City. As he showed her around his old stomping grounds and introduced her to his family, Phoebe realized she was totally head-over-heels for the frat boy she met back in September. The two became official when they arrived back at UMass and spent the remaining months of the school year attached at the hip. The next year, they took their relationship long-distance after Julian graduated. Many FaceTime sessions and weekend trips to Massachusetts and New York helped them make it through. That following year though, they made the tough decision to go their separate ways. Phoebe still had her senior year to complete, and Julian had to focus on his career. They trusted in the age-old adage: if they were meant to be, they would find their way back to each other. After Phoebe graduated, they decided to meet up in New York City, not knowing what the outcome may be. What was supposed to be a coffee turned into lunch and drinks -- a whole seven hours later, they fell right back into each other and have been each other’s rock ever since. In July 2022, Phoebe and Julian moved into their first apartment together, and in March 2023, Julian got down on one knee and asked Phoebe to spend the rest of her life with him. Now, exactly nine years after first laying eyes on each other, Phoebe and Julian are getting married and are so excited to celebrate their love with all of their closest friends and family on September 28, 2024.
