Question

How do I get on base?

Answer

Our wedding will be held on the Air Force Academy. Before 5 PM, all guests will be required to show a valid driver's license or military ID to access the base. Late comers will need a military ID or a military sponsor to get on base. Please try to enter the gate no later than 4:30 to allow enough time to get through the gate and to the venue.

Question

Air Force Academy Drug and Alcohol Policy

Answer

Our wedding is being held on a military installation and that comes with a few quirks and regulations. Most importantly, the Air Force Academy has a lower legal limit for alcohol. If you plan on drinking, please have a transportation plan- uber/lyft are allowed to come on base. Also, although marijuana is legal in Colorado, the Air Force Academy is a federal installation and marijuana consumption and possession is illegal. Please DO NOT use or bring any marijuana before or during the event. The gate guards often performs searches using drug dogs and have the authority to arrest and charge offenders.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

With respect, we would like our special day to be an adult only occasion. Of course, nursing mothers and children under 12 months are welcome!

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors (with plenty of patio access!)

Question

What time should we be there?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 5 pm. The gate will not allow guests on base without a military ID after 5 pm. Please arrive at the gate no later than 4:30 to allow time to get through the gate and to the venue.
