How we Met (As told by Julia) Josh’s sister, Emily, and I were inseparable in high school. A few months after becoming friends, I met Josh for the first time. I remember casually thinking “Wouldn’t it be funny if I married my best friend’s brother?” Josh and I would occasionally talk in the parking lot after school, but we never hung out much. It wasn’t until I graduated high school when things changed. I came back to town for a New Year’s Eve party that Emily’s now husband, Jacob, was throwing. I was sitting across from a cute guy who I thought I hadn’t met before, and asked how he knew Emily and Jacob. He laughed and said he’d known them for awhile. After asking Emily a little more about this guy, she told me that was her brother, Josh! Needless to say, he looked a lot different than I had remembered him from high school. After laughing off the awkward moment, we spent the rest of the night getting to know each other on a whole new level. From then on, we spent almost every day together. I could tell that he wasn’t like any other guy. He genuinely cared about me and what I had to say. It didn’t take long for me to realize that he wasn’t just a regular guy, he was the love of my life!

(As told by Josh) I had been secretly planning a proposal to Julia for quite some time. I knew that the Harry Potter Yule Ball would be perfect for this unforgettable moment. The day of the event, we wore matching red and gold attire (Gryffindor colors). She looked so beautiful. At noon, we arrived at the Yule Ball where we danced and had drinks with the full experience of the Wizardly World of the Yule Ball. After the Yule Ball, I could tell Julia’s feet were in pain from all the dancing. We weren’t far from the mall, so I decided to treat her to a new pair of her favorite sneakers. From there, we arrived at an exclusive steak house known for its exquisite cuisine. During the dinner, I shared heartfelt memories of our journey together, recounting our adventures and expressing my deep love for Julia. She listened intently, captivated by the affectionate words that flowed from my heart. Little did she know that a magnificent surprise awaited her. After dinner, I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small black box. I got down on one knee as I took Julia's hand in mine. I looked deeply into her eyes and said with a voice filled with love and nervous anticipation, "Julia, you are the light of my life, my partner in magic, and my forever adventure. Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?"
