Wedding Update

We got married in front of our parents and siblings in Boston on 5/22/21. We hope you can celebrate with us in Miami next year!

How We Met

Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!

In 2014, Julia's coworkers were organizing an intramural softball team through Social Boston Sports and needed a few extra players. Julia played softball on and off in high school but she was much more excited about the social aspect. Nick, being a one time high school hero baseball player seeking to reclaim the glory days, jumped at the opportunity to join the team. Although we tell people we met playing softball, the truth is we met at the Northeastern dive bar Connor Larkins to have some beers before the game. Over the next couple of weeks, Julia & Nick shared triumphs, defeats, laughs and even some dog punch bowls. Even though our 8 game season came to an end with a tough loss in the championship, we like to think the real victory was off the field. Nick asked Julia out on a date in July 2014 and the rest as they say is history!

The Proposal

11/2/19

Nick played puppet master and tricked Julia into planning her own surprise engagement party (well partially anyway). Julia thought she was hosting a late new apartment warming / birthday party for Nick. Nick asked Julia's friend Katie to invite us to brunch on the morning of the party because Nick thought this would be the only way to get Julia to dress up and leave the apartment on a chilly November morning prior to hosting a party. As they got to one of their favorite spots behind their apartment overlooking the Boston Harbor Nick told Julia there would be a change of plans, got down on one knee, and popped the question. Nick's friend Kyle snuck Katie and Pat into the apartment and they hid in the bushes to film and take pictures of the special moment (Nick was even photobombed by an old couple while on one knee to block a perfect shot!). Nick then took Julia to lunch at Carmelina's, their favorite restaurant in the North End. The surprises for Julia continued as Nick's sister and brother in law and many of Julia's best friends from out of town made the journey to help make the engagement party and day truly special.
