Orbits colliding

Bend, Oregon, 2017

Cosmic forces helped Brye and Judy-Ann finally find each other after way too many years of looking. Their orbits finally passed each other in the city of Bend, Oregon in 2016. Past the hay-days of college parties and early twenty-something social events, the two resorted to online dating to finally locate each others' whereabouts. Brye's finely-tuned German-dar, developed through a long-term love of Germanic language and culture, detected something special about Judy-Ann, shortly after they began to talk. After wowing her with his slightly better than mediocre German language skills, they were off, exploring the diverse outdoor paradise surrounding Bend, from high desert to ponderosa pine forests. Father-son love between Auden and Brye was immediate, with Auden promptly naming Brye his "Honey Papa". The two spent weekends picking morel mushrooms, kayaking in the Deschutes River, and fishing for trout, among other pursuits with their trusty desert dog, "Ocotillo" and his trusty sidekick "Scooby" the pug. Brye and Judy-Ann got engaged in Portland, Oregon on December 2, 2019, atop Rocky Butte, an extinct volcanic cinder cone with expansive views of the Columbia River and surrounding mountains. A global pandemic inhibited attempts at wedding planning, so the love pair moved forward on the winter solstice, 2020, with a Celtic handfasting ceremony in front of a few close friends to further solidify their matrimonial vows. Despite the impact of the handfasting, Judy-Ann and Brye have maintained a deep desire to announce and celebrate their union in front of the friends and family that support them. Last August, the Lefler-Jacobs family welcome their beautiful daughter, Aoife, into the world. We are excited for her to meet her extended family and friends as well! 2022 is finally the year! We look forward to reciting our wedding vows and receiving your blessings for a long and happy marriage together on September 17, 2022 in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.
