JT and Darien met while working at Jimmy Johns. Darien was a student in Stillwater and attending OSU at the time, and she worked at Jimmy Johns as a part time job to pay for school. JT was in training at the Stillwater JJs location for his job as a Business Coach. They connected over their love of painting and all things artistic, as well as their shared sense of humor, and the rest is history!

JT was pretty sneaky with his proposal. He planned a "Wine and Palette" night with some of their closest friends, and the people who now make up their wedding party. They all followed a YouTube video of a painting, something along the lines of a bird and some flowers. After the paintings were finished, each person showed off their painting to the rest of the group, with JT's being last. The painting asked, "Will You Marry Me", and the answer was obvious!
