How we Met- Bride

2016

I was introduced to Ebube by a mutual friend in 2016. I remember telling him in our first conversation that I was single but not searching and definitely not interested in a long distance relationship. He just laughed and said okay that’s not a problem. I appreciated the fact that he didn’t try to make me change my mind or make our conversations about how he liked me. Rather, we spent time on the phone talking about our day, life in general and things we had in common. I looked forward to his calls and messages because he always found ways to make me laugh and uplift my spirit no matter how my day was going. I grew very fond of him, and he quickly became my most cherished friend. I traveled back home in the summer of 2017 and was able to meet his parents and some of his siblings who welcomed me with opened arm and loving hearts. Things I admire about Ebube are his humility, his acts of kindness toward family and strangers alike, his strength and his ability to maintain a positive outlook toward everything that comes his way. I am glad I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

How we met- Groom

I saw her picture when I was hanging out with my childhood friend, I asked who she was and how he knew her lol. He asked if I wanted her number so I can call up a stranger and tell her I like her. We had a great time laughing and imagining how awkward that conversation will be. Some weeks later, my friend told me that he spoke with Joyce and told her about me. I reached out to her, we had a nice conversation but, she told me she was not looking for any relationship at the moment. I told her that I respect her wish and will just like to be her friend. We spent a lot of time on the phone talking and discovering we have a lot in common. She came home to Nigeria summer of 2017, she was able to meet my part of the family, and we officially started dating. Being friends before dating allowed us to know each other better, discover our differences, and appreciate the things we have in common. The hardest part about the long distance relationship was deciding who will be relocating since we’ve both started our careers. I am happy that I get to spend the rest of my life with her.
