Gordon & I met back in 1990 when I was still in college & working part-time in restaurants. I applied for a server position at a new restaurant. I walked into the restaurant and Gordon was working that day. He did a double take in my direction & that set forth his interest in pursuing me. He soon asked me out, but I was unavailable. Patience & persistence paid off! He asked me out a 3rd time & the timing was right! For our 1st date he offered to make me dinner. Gordon is the main influence of my insatiable love + appetite for good food and wine! He made me this delicious French lobster dinner with a decadent vanilla + orange souffle for dessert. We dated for about a year & Gordon swept me off my feet! He took me up to Napa for my first time & also to Cabo before it was untouched & developed... he even bought me a dog- Java the Akita & bought us matching mountain bikes! The reality was I was not ready for a serious relationship at such a young age of 21 years young. We had an amicable breakup & through the years, we ran into each other about every 5 years. I worked in sales entertaining clients at various restaurants in Orange County & Gordon worked for Southern Wine & Spirits. I ran into him at a wine tasting he was working - it had been about 6 years since we last saw one other. We kept in touch & our friendship strengthened when I had loss my mom in May 2016 & 7 weeks later, Gordon lost his mom. I believe in some miraculous way our mothers brought us together. A beautiful relationship emerged after the loss of our mothers. My Mom always adored & loved Gordon -and she often ask me if he was single after we broke up in 1990. Gordon told his mom we were dating again when she became ill. Her response, “Gordon, I want you to be happy and I can tell you are the happiest I have ever seen you- you deserve it.” It was her blessing she gave him on our behalf- she passed away shortly after. We LOVE & MISS You So Much- Naty + Ingeborg. Thank You Mom!
