Her vs His Story

#JourneyToJones

Chrissy… Ok so boom...October of 2015 I was asked to bring purple and pink fabric scraps to a charity flag football game for Domestic Violence vs. Breast Cancer Awareness. So I simply cut up some random material and headed over to Fairfield Middle School’s field. Mark's team and another team were planning to play flag football without any flags (how smart?). He had someone come ask me if I could I make him some silk drawls lol. I told them to tell him do not send a messenger and to come ask for himself. He proceeded to walk over and ask could I make him some silk drawls. I say no but we did exchange numbers that day and went our separate ways. Fast forward, we go on our first date at 3 Monkeys in Carytown. While there we meet a bride-to-be (pictured below) who tells us we are going to get married and we toast to marriage with shots of 1800. From that point we became friends, who grew into best friends, to now being each other’s everything! Mark... Eff all that she is talking about. She has been mine since the first time I laid eyes on her dancing for money on the corner of JD at the 301 convenience store. It was for a charity event to collect donations to provide toys to children for Christmas so I didn't judge her, even though she says she doesn’t remember me being there. I don't care she was mine! I did ask her for silk drawls at that game but I still haven't received them yet (maybe after the wedding). I knew she was a keeper and now she is mine forever until death do us part!

The Proposal

1-6-2020

Mark had made plans to take me on a ski trip for my birthday weekend in which he had planned to propose. I abruptly changed those plans when I expressed I would prefer to spend my birthday surrounded by sunshine and the beach. Mark, determined to make my birthday exactly what I wanted, changed his original plans last minute and booked a trip to the Bahamas. Oh, the excitement! The day before Mark went to visit my father and brother to express he would like to marry me and they gave their blessing surely after a few words of advice/lecturing. He also told his mom who was shocked he even wanted to marry (he was a handful for her lol). The night before the trip we had a beautiful dinner and partied the night away with my closest friends and family. So much so that we nearly missed our flight at the crack of dawn the next morning. Needless to say we made our flight and cruised from West Palm Beach, Florida and docked in Grand Bahama Island. As we set out to explore the island Mark asked a random stranger to assist with some photos of us. He knows how much I love an impromptu photo shoot! We climbed a few rocks to have a great view of the ocean in our pictures. As I prepared to pose for the picture to my surprise he dropped down to one knee. Nervously shaking on the rocks as I stood, he asked me to be his forever…. I said, “Yes, it’s about damn time!”
