How We Met

September 2019 - Thanks Hinge (and Japan)

Like many modern couples, we met through a dating app. Brandon expressed his interest in going to Japan on his Hinge profile, and this (along with his dashing good looks) caught Jourdi's eye because she would be going to Japan in a few months with her MBA program. Fast forward to today, and Jourdi has since been to Japan three times, including two one-month stints for work. Meanwhile, Brandon still dreams of going to Japan and learning the way of the Samurai. But don't worry we will make it there together someday!

How It Got Serious

March 2020 - Pandemic Housemates

It was March 2020, toilet paper was flying off the shelves, and we were both entirely remote. After a few days of bouncing between Jourdi’s 500 square foot studio and Brandon’s apartment that he shared with two roommates, Jourdi decided she needed more space and was going to move into her parents' vacant house in Maryland - along with her brother - and asked Brandon to come along. Hesitant to live together after just six months of dating, especially with her brother who he barely knew, Brandon grudgingly agreed to come for a weekend. He returned to his apartment a month later to pick up more clothes. In what became almost 1.5 years unofficially living together in Jourdi's parents empty house, Brandon and Jourdi got the chance to become very close, binging all seasons of Game of Thrones, going on various road trips, and just all around spending a lot of time together!

How We Got Engaged

April 2022 - The Perfect Proposal

Brandon proposed in April 2022 while the two families were celebrating Passover together in Sarasota, FL. Despite Brandon not being the best planner and Jourdi being pretty nosey, he managed to completely surprise her by orchestrating an elaborate diversion where his family pretended to leave earlier that day. As Jourdi would later recall, Brandon was “cool as a cucumber” when he suggested they take a walk down by their favorite beach-front tiki bar. While no one remembers what was said while Brandon was down on one knee, photographic evidence, both families, and Jourdi's ring finger can confirm that she did indeed say yes!
