Pella Crossing

11600 N 75th St., Longmont, CO 80503

This set of walking trails has amazing views of the Front Range and great for people of every fitness and activity level. The walking path is flat and even. If you go in the morning, stop by the Crane Hollow Cafe, in Hygiene, CO for breakfast; their cinnamon rolls are amazing! Stop by Mountain Fountain in Hygiene anytime of day for a local treat!

Rabbit Mountain Open Space

15140 North 55th Street, Longmont, CO 80503
, (303) 678-6200

This is open space is the most convenient hiking near Longmont. All of the hikes have some sections of incline but we would still describe it as family friendly. At Rabbit Mountain, our favorite hike is the Eagle Wind Trail; it has amazing mountain views. Indian Mesa Trail is the lowest impact and the Little Thompson Overlook Trail is the best for a quick workout. When you are at Rabbit Mountain, you are minutes away from the cute town of Lyons which is the gateway to the mountains. Grab lunch, dinner, or a drink in Lyons at Mojo Taqueria, Oscar Blues, or Bella La Crema. Be like the locals and grab an ice cream at Lyons Dairy Bar for a post hike treat!

Rocky Mountain National Park

1000 US Hwy 36, Estes Park, CO 80517

If this is your first time coming to Colorado, we highly recommend you take a day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is truly one of the nation's national treasures. From easy walking loops, to butt busting hikes, to scenic driving routes, there is something for everyone! It is a tourist destination in summer so we HIGHLY recommend a weekday visit and a morning arrival before 9 AM. Check out the park and ride situation throughout the park and the City of Estes Park. COVID note: In Summer 2020, park service was placing limitations on people in the park and you could place your reservations in advance, we are unsure of the Summer 2021 plans. Joss recommends getting an apple fritter from Donut Haus on your way to hike!

Indian Peaks Wilderness

Ward, CO 80481

If you want to get some epic views hiking high in the mountains but don't want to deal with all the hustle and bustle of Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Peaks Wilderness is great option. Still get there early in the morning because parking lots fill up fast!
