Sydney and Josh were connected through mutual friends while attending Tulane University. They had been texting for a little while but hadn't actually met yet or gone on a first date. At a kick-back, Sydney's friend pointed Josh out as the guy Sydney had been texting, telling her "that's Josh Diamond". That was the first time Sydney had heard his last name. So, Sydney walked over to Josh to introduce herself. Josh immediately recognized her and introduced her to his friends. After a minute, Sydney asked Josh if his last name was really "Diamond, like a Diamond" and then told him that she needed to marry him because her last name was Wolofsky and she liked his better. Josh and his friends laughed, he said "sure!", and the rest is history!

The day after Sydney's last final exam of law school, Josh invited her out to celebrate. After coming home from work, Josh asked her to administer an at-home COVID exam saying he thought he had recently been exposed. She administered his test and then went to finish getting ready while the timer ran. When she came out, he asked her to read the results. Josh had put the test in the ring box with a note that read "I may be negative for COVID but I'm positive you're the one for me." Confused, Sydney responded that he was still negative before realizing that he had already gotten down on one knee. After Sydney screamed yes, the newly engaged couple met up with their friends Rachael and Alex who were waiting for them at the Lincoln Center with champagne.
