Joshua and Sarah met at the beginning of 2022 through a local bible study and discipleship ministry. Both content in the Lord and walking faithfully as singles within 35 miles of each other, God saw fit to slowly bring them together, in His perfect time. Joshua first noticed Sarah at a game night hosted at his house, impressed by her heart for the Lord and knowledge of the word. He would spend the rest of the spring and early summer slowly getting to know her, seeking council, and building a friendship. At the end of July, Joshua came to Sarah’s parents and asked for permission to more intentionally get to know her and with their blessing win her heart. Of course they said ‘yes’, and Sarah was delighted having slowly began to notice the character and integrity of Joshua. Over the months that followed, Joshua gently and tenderly pursued Sarah, lead in intentional conversation, built a foundation of godly friendship, slowly grew in intimacy, and sought council from godly couples who could speak into their lives. Joshua asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage at the beginning of 2023.

Joshua proposed on top of a beautiful mountain with soft snow flurries during a sweet ski trip with her family and their spiritual family- and Sarah was totally surprised. Family and several friends were able to hide and watch from afar and get pictures from several angles. It was sweet and private, but they got to be involved and included and then we all got to celebrate together. It was the sweetest and most simply delightful proposal!
