Our story does not begin with Love At First Sight. In fact, Josh does not actually remember the first time we met =P Marisa developed a connection with Lyrica through gymnastics before she ever developed feelings for Josh. She remembers seeing 6-year old Lyrica at Envision Festival in Costa Rica trying to do very cute and sad-looking cartwheels back stage. Marisa decided to make it her mission to teach this child proper gymnastics! So she arranged a trade with Josh for lessons in Photoshop in exchange for private gymnastics lessons for Lyrica. Lyrica took to gymnastics very quickly, and she does beautiful cartwheels to this day. Marisa, unfortunately, can not work Photoshop to save her life. In the Fall of 2017, Josh and Marisa found themselves spending a lot of time together while they trained for the tour of the circus theatre show, Eco-Wakening. A spark was there, but this ember needed some TLC. Josh was very patient in pursuing Marisa while she dwelled on 101 reasons why they shouldn't be together. The list included hesitations such as: He used to date my best friend! Ahh! He has a kid! Ahhh! He has a Jedi braid aka RAT TAIL!!! AAAHHHH!!! Once Marisa got over herself and let the walls come down, the two were inseparable. Little did she know this relationship would blossom into the love of her life, which included the gift of the most AMAZING stepdaughter. Fast forward almost 5 years, the two have an impressive list of accomplishments together: - Produced/Directed/Performed in 4 circus theater productions - Traveled internationally for work and play - Survived a global pandemic that actually brought the couple closer together - Purchased a home that they absolutely love - Raising a pre-teen Gen Z-er under said roof This love story is far from over, so please join us in celebrating the next chapter.
