Wedding Party

Yenna Chang

(she/her)

Maid of Honor "The best friend that's seen too much" Yenna and I got off on the wrong foot in 5th grade, but she's a real one for still sticking around 20 years later. Throughout all the changes in our lives, all the good, all the bad, she's been a constant friend that accepts me unconditionally. The one word I'd use to describe our friendship is "chaotic" but I wouldn't want it any other way.

Tanner Tran

(he/him)

Best Man "Behind every great man is an even better best man" My friendship with Tanner is built on the tears we shed from our 8am Physics class. We spent many late nights finishing our assignments, and even though the class was brutal, I was secretly enjoying the semester because of Tanner. We bonded during our early morning walks to class and shared our deepest, darkest secrets. He quickly became one of my best friends and someone I could share anything with. A bad day always becomes a good one when I get to talk to Tanner.

Nicole Kwon

(she/her)

"I made the cut" Nicole is that chill friend that everyone needs in their life. No matter what crazy, chaotic things are happening in life, chatting over a good meal and drinks with Nicole always grounds me. She's always down for anything, including flying to Dallas and trying 4 boba stores in 2 days and binge-watching a season of Attack on Titan in 24 hours.

Jaron Chan

(he/him)

"Somebody's gotta do it." Jaron is a beast-mode Smash player, smoking hot grill master, hunky interior designer/home renovator, S-tier of a photographer, and screamo-loving head banger. We only had a year together in Houston before I moved back to Dallas, but he was easily my closest friend in the city. It didn't matter what was going on; Jaron was always down to grab a meal and talk with me. He's the main reason why I could call Htown my home. I don't get to see him much anymore, but I always jump at the chance to visit him and hear his evil laugh.

Sarah Wong

(she/her)

"The bride's understudy" I became close to Sarah after I convinced her to come to Wheaton. I loved all the spontaneous things we could do as roommates, like late night chats, making youtube covers, and cutting bangs. A solid friend that I love being with and can count on.

Derek Ju

(he/him)

"Celebrity crush: IU" I love hearing Derek laugh lol. Idk why, but it makes me happy. Derek showed me my favorite K-drama (Fight My Way) and how to style my perm. Derek doesn't like wholesome content so I'm going to stop here.

Brittany Gibson

(she/her)

Brittany and I met as roommates at Wheaton. As I was learning a lot of new things about myself, having someone deep and insightful like Brittany as a friend was the only thing that kept me sane. She keeps me grounded by reminding me of the important things in life and inspires me to be brave in my relationships.

Danny Kim

(he/him)

"Also you should be the one to create the quote / phrase so I’ll leave it up to you 😊 " Danny and I studied civil engineering in college, joined the same college orgs, and lived together our senior year. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time together and got to know each other really well. He's got a unique way of knowing what I need to hear and how to encourage me. I was terrified after I quit my job to pursue a degree in counseling, but Danny's support was a huge reason I grew more confident in my decision. He's one of my fiercest friends, and I feel unstoppable when I'm with him.

Boyun Sul

(they/them)

"'I'm a genius' - Josh Wei" I thought Boyun was the sweetest person ever until we played Minecraft together during COVID. Then, I saw a side of them that I did not appreciate. However, we still grew close, and Boyun became someone I could deeply trust. Even though Boyun is the youngest of my best friends, they're one of the wisest and strongest people I know. I've learned a lot from observing and listening to them, and I'm always encouraged by how they view the world. Their support has meant so much to me over the course of our friendship.

Chris Seo

(he/him)

"""You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. - Wayne Gretzky" - Michel Scott" - Chris Seo" A loyal friend who has my back no matter what. When I first met Chris, I was lowkey scared of him and wondered why he was so quiet. Once we got to know each other, I realized I had found a friend who has so much stability and strength. I don't know where I would be without Chris. We moved to different cities after graduation, and a lot of the college memories I reminisce are ones with Chris. Like when we would order 100 chicken McNuggets after football games and go to CiCi's every other week. And when he waxed my chest lol.

Stephen Ma

(he/him)

"afraid of needles" When I moved back to Dallas in 6th grade and rejoined our home church, Stephen was the first to welcome me. I don't think he remembers this, but he asked me if I liked Pokemon and showed me his Pokemon cards. I think I still remember that moment because I'm still thankful for his act of kindness. We grew up together from middle school to college, and we go to see each other change and mature into who we are today. I'm very proud and thankful to be Stephen's friend, so I'm really happy he gets to stand with me on my wedding day.

For all the days along the way
