Day of Celebration

Everyone always wants to know the “meet cute” but my favorite part is what comes after. Josh and I have had an amazing life together and it’s only the beginning. Every day has been a new adventure and I’ve loved him even more everyday, but that is my perspective:) Since it all had to start somewhere though here goes. On January 22, 2022 we were snowboarding at Tamarack snow resort but not together. Riding the singles line we ended up on the same lift eventually. I was the chatty Kathy and tried to talk to this quiet individual on the long ride up the mountain. I even took off my goggles so I didn’t have to talk through my snow gear. This funny man would was not very responsive and I did all the talking. He seemed like he knew where he was going by the end of the ride, so I followed him. To his surprise I was able to keep up and we kept riding together. I only found out a few things from this man but he was polite. The day was great until 3 pm when I jumped off the side of a ledge and fell. I thought something felt funny when I couldn’t move my arm. I sat up and looked around. Josh was already far down the hill. I even thought he left me. I got myself up and started down the mountain really slow and there he was waiting for me. “I dislocated my shoulder” I told him and he looked at me with disbelief. Even though he seemed to not believe me, he helped me down the mountain. I kept jabbering on how sorry I was and that he could leave me and finish out the day. He wouldn’t leave me regardless. He helped me down the mountain and to the medic tent. It was only then when my jacket came off and you could see a dislocated shoulder that he believed me. After the PA put it back in then he helped me to my car. He said “ he should probably get my number to make sure I get home safe” so I gave it to him. I then made the first move and asked if “he eats food”. He said yes and we got pho in Boise. And the rest is history- or at least that’s my side of the story!
